Resident Anne Holst

Meet Resident Anne Holst

In a suburb of New York City called Tenafly, Anne grew up gazing at the lights of Manhattan. After graduating from college with a degree in English Literature, she started a career in advertising at The New Yorker.

But the West coast was calling to Anne, so she took a long train ride to San Francisco, where she landed a job in human resources.

After she got married, Anne decided to get her real estate license. And, for the next 29 years, she worked as a real estate agent in La Jolla, and surrounding areas for the Willis Allen Company.

From the East to the West

The West coast was calling to Anne, so she took a long train ride to San Francisco. Along the way, she had two lovely daughters, Andrea and Krista. Andrea is a second grade teacher. Her husband teaches ceramics at La Jolla High.

Her other daughter Krista, is a motivational coach in the real estate industry. She also has two grandchildren, Chloe who is also a Wells College graduate and Ian who is now at the Pratt Art Institute.

After Moving to La Jolla

After moving to La Jolla, she joined the La Jolla Presbyterian Church where she enjoys singing and volunteering to care for the prayer garden there. In fact, she loves gardening so much that she also takes care of the small garden at the La Jolla Historical Society. When she’s not gardening, she can be found walking on the beach with her dog Abby or reading fiction books.

Anne always looks forward to the exercise classes here. What attracted her to our retirement community is the smaller more intimate setting (and community), and the fact that it is family owned. The location helps too! She also has several friends who are happy residents here. This likely influenced her decision too… after all, who doesn’t want to live with their friends (fun)!

The fresh air and mild year-round weather, combined with great dining, a diverse culture, and recreational activities can be yours at Chateau La Jolla. No costly entrance fees, just affordable coastal living.
