Reinventing What It Means To Age

With so many things in life, either you choose a path for yourself, or circumstances conspire to choose one for you.

Age Is Irrelevant

Whether you are 55, 65 or 75, everywhere people are reinventing what it means to age. From going back to school to becoming a writer, photographer or activist, age is irrelevant in today’s world. Sure, there was a time when the word retirement conjured up images of aimless hours spent doing nothing with the notion that life as you knew it was over.

But today’s retirees look, feel, and play like old is the last thing you would ever call them. In a world that often defines and limits people by age, when you believe anything is possible at any time, there is nothing that can stop you… not even your age. So, if are ready to reinvent what it means to age, now is the time to change your story.

Changing the Narrative

With so many things in life, either you choose a path for yourself, or circumstances conspire to choose one for you. Reinventing what it means to age is not about denying your age, or defying aging (good luck with that btw), it’s about owning your age. It’s also about embracing the opportunities to live your best life at every age.

To do this, you need to change the aging narrative. Re-think the negative stories you tell yourself like, I missed my time or I’m too old to do… because as cliché as it might be, age is just a number. Snap out of society’s trance and choose how you want to live and age. After all, age means wisdom and with that, life has more possibilities.

Step Outside Your Comfort Zone – NOW (not later)

Reaching a certain age doesn’t mean you have to become invisible. Instead, it’s a time to step outside your comfort zone and do something that makes you uncomfortable… because, that’s where the good stuff happens. Remember, you don’t come this far to only come this far. Start evaluating what you are passionate about, write down what you want to accomplish and assemble a road map to make it happen!
