Surprise Gift Boxes
It isn’t the size of the gift that matters, but the size of the heart that gives it.
Weekly Gift Boxes
We are living in stressful times. In times like these, our residents need practical actionable ways of coping with stress, fear, and anxiety. To help our residents find some calm amidst all the chaos, we send weekly surprise gift boxes. Not only does this give them something to look forward to, it also helps keep them engaged. After all, everyone needs a break from reality, especially now more than ever.
Delivered to their front doors weekly, the therapeutic value these surprise gift boxes offer is priceless. Each gift box is uniquely designed to help our residents immerse themselves and ‘forget’ their troubles whilst in the midst of an activity like coloring. Here is a sneak peak at some of the surprise gift boxes we have delivered.
Coloring Book & Pencils
The therapeutic value of coloring comes from the need to concentrate. Coloring can relieve stress and anxiety similarly to the way that meditation can reduce stress levels. That’s because coloring is an in-the-moment activity, which helps with being present.
Being in-the-moment, or present, especially while coloring, can help to evoke feelings of peace, enjoyment and satisfaction. Which is why, revisiting this much loved childhood pastime was well worth the effort of creating the gift boxes!
Thank You Cards
Words of thanks can encourage and inspire. Which is why we created and delivered thank you cards to all of our residents. It was our hope these thank you cards would encourage our residents to share their gratitude with those who are making a difference.
Whether within the walls of Chateau La Jolla, or to the countless healthcare workers who provide the compassionate care we all need to get through this. Taking the time to be thankful, can help them feel more positive emotions while also helping them deal with adversity. Something we all need today!
Playing Cards (Solitaire)
Most people play card games for the entertainment value they provide, but they also provide several other benefits. For some, they are a good way to relax and unwind. For others, they represent a way to hone their skills.
It’s also worth pointing out that one player games such as solitaire can help you gather your thoughts and recharge your mental batteries. For this reason, we created a box of playing cards to help our residents pass the time away until we’re together at last!
