Herd Immunity
Herd immunity which can help slow the spread of COVID-19 is something we at Chateau La Jolla are working to achieve.
Community Immunity
If you don’t know yet, community immunity also known as herd immunity, is when a large portion of a community (the herd) becomes immune to a disease/virus. This provides indirect protection to the community and those who are not yet immune. In the context of coronavirus, if a sufficiently high number of individuals in a population are vaccinated, they can provide herd immunity.
For this reason, we offered our residents the COVID-19 vaccination. In the first week of February, we held our first COVID vaccine party, and by late February (after their second COVID-19 vaccination clinic), our community will be at 75% herd immunity.
We Are In This Together
We are living in stressful times. In times like these, we need practical, actionable ways of coping with stress, fear, and anxiety. For this reason, we are dedicated to keeping our residents and staff, safe and healthy. After all, we are all feeling especially delicate during these times. And, it is times like these that we must be there for each other. That’s exactly what we do here at Chateau La Jolla. We are in this together, and together is how we will get through it.
